Shihan Michael Ayers began martial arts training With Shihan Jerry Andrea in the 1970's. Soon after, he began training with Hanshi George Anderson at Akron University. Shihan Ayers was awarded his Sho Dan from Anderson Hanshi in 1977 and was a founding member of the Center for the Martial Arts. He founded Tsuki Kage Ryu (Moon's Reflection School) in New York in the 1980's and opened a dojo in San Francisco in 1986 which is still in operation today. He studied with various teachers along the path including the arts of Iaido, Aikido & tea ceremony. Shihan Ayers is also an internationally recognized breeder of Weimaraner dogs and a decorated Viet Nam vet.
