Membership in the International Kwanmukan

The International Kwanmukan is one of the largest and most prestigious martial arts organizations in the world. Founded by Hanshi George E. Anderson, the Kwanmukan both specializes in and synthesizes Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, and Kobudo and remains true to the original taekwondo kwons as the Songmookwan, Changmookwan, and Kangdukwon. Kwanmukan puts heavy emphasis on root technique, that is the commonality of technique found throughout all the martial arts.

Membership Kinds

There are two kids of membership Group membership is for those who wish to affiliate their dojo or martial arts organization in their country or area through the International Kwanmukan. Individual membership is for those martial artists interested in joining and participating in International Kwanmukan activities.

Individual Membership

Those who train at an recognized Kwanmukan dojo are automatically Kwanmukan members and receive their ranking and certification through their dojo.

If you do not currently train at a Kwanmukan dojo and wish to continue your membership or join anew, please contact the International Kwanmukan at email.

Group Membership

All Group Membership applications must be presented to and approved by the International Kwanmuan. The first step in affiliating your group with the International Kwanmukan is to contact us at email.

The hombu dojo will review your group and its activities and discuss your affiliation with the International Kwanmukan and a determination as to whether or not the affiliation should be approved will be forthcoming. Upon approval, your group will receive notification and instructions on how to proceed.
